  • Fun, Interactive and Educational Saturday Clubs

    What is it?

    Every Saturday is special so you look for a unique experience for your child. We get that!

    So, we are going to run clubs to amuse, entertain and show your kids something new and useful every week with the same dedication and energy we show in our seasonal camps.

    Depending on the week, we will explore a money-related theme with animations, hand-on activities and with humorous props and we will work on our coding skills. This will be a fun Saturday Club your kids will enjoy and the benefit will go on long after the club is over because these clubs will introduce them to coding and money education, two valuable life skills.

    How it Works in Detail

     (September to December 2021)

    10 am - Arrival, Temperature check & Welcome
    10.10 am- Fire drill
    10.15 am Group 1: Fun Finance (5-7 year olds): Autumn Term Theme Spending Money: how, why, where and when.
    Group 2: Coding & Robotics with Ozlem, of Karli Coding (8-11 year olds)
    - Animations, games and storyboards using block-based coding programs such as Scratch developed by MIT University
    - Introduction to coding concepts like loops, conditionals, sequences, and debugging.
    - Robotics: Projects via robotic platforms such as WeDo and Lego Boost
    - Block-based coding exercises(Code.Org)
    - Steam apps and games

    11.15 am-10.25 am - Break. Time for a snack and a little relaxation. Our colourful and tasty fruit creations will be available to rumbling bellies with hungry minds.

    11.25 am -12.25 am - Group 1 and 2 Swap Over
    12.30: Home Time

    Who? Cecilia (OoberKidsRepublic) and Ozlem (Karli Coding). We are both DBS-checked, Paediatrics First Aid trained educators with camp and workshop experience.

    AND...

    Where? The Turkish Education Group,  2 Newington Green Road. 

    Do I need to provide anything?  Some children like to bring their own devices for their coding classes but we don't request it. Just bring your children, we will do the rest.

    How much does it cost? Single Session passes cost £18 and £15 for sibling or save BIG TIME by booking a monthly or seasonal pass. We provide discounts for siblings too!

    Refunds will be processed at the organisers' discretion.

    Relevant

    Your children will be simply required to understand coding. It will be a requirement in many professional settings but it will also be useful in every day life.

    As for understanding money: our youngsters are likely to receive fewer and in some cases less generous benefits both at work and from the government: understanding budgeting, saving, spending and investing money will help them face life with confidence and creativity.

    Serious work, done with a smile (and va-va-voom)

    Yes, we are going to work on serious subjects but there will be no long faces or pressure. You know us: we will run the club according to our usual child-centric educational style. Energy, optimism and creativity. That's your kids. That's us.
